a+g monthly newsletter: february 2025

It’s February! Happy love month, thin line fam!

I hopped on Instagram stories earlier this week for the first time in forever. You might remember from last month’s newsletter that one of my big “resolutions” for 2025 was to spend less time on my phone. This includes social media-and if we’re being honest, the more time I spend offline (aka not constantly comparing my life with others or being bombarded by the news) the better I feel. I do miss hanging out with y’all, though! There’s definitely pros and cons-and in this season of life, the pros to having firm social media boundaries definitely outweigh the cons.

Now hold on to your hats because the thing I’m most excited about this month (I can barely contain it!) is…drumroll please…a brand new a+g ebook!

Whaaaat?! Yes! Thin Line Valentine launched yesterday!

If you’re like “wait a minute, did I miss you talking about this?” nope…it’s brand new! Having a prayer/marriage challenge specifically for our first responder couples has been on my heart for a while now, but just the other day I realized that Valentine’s week was the perfect time for it. So I buckled down, started getting up at 4 am to write away, and finished it just in time!

You can read more about Thin Line Valentine at the bottom of this month’s newsletter under “book recommendation” but essentially it’s an ebook (similar to The Praying Police Wife) that’s available for immediate download and features seven days of prayer for your first responder, wrapping up on Valentine’s Day (next Friday) with a stack of prayers to gift to your hero!

I’m so excited about this latest project, and I hope that y’all are, too! It’s been awhile since I’ve felt really passionately about something I’ve worked on for the blog, and God really laid this one on my heart. I pray it’s a blessing for so many first responder couples!

Here’s the top three things that y’all loved the most this past month:

Tineco Vacuum Mop. I can’t shut up about my mopvac! I got it for Christmas and am in love with it more and more each and every time I use it. It vacuums/mops/dries all at once and is a total game changer for keeping our laminate floors clean. I used to dread mopping because it was messy and took forever to dry. Now I can do our entire downstairs (about 800 square feet) in less than 15 minutes-including the time it takes for the mopvac to clean itself when I’m done. A true win in my book!

Water bottle. I got this water bottle for my LEO because he wanted a giant one (40 ounces) that still fit in his car cup holder. He’s been using this one for over a month and loves it! I like that it comes with two types of lids and a straw cleaner.

Indoor snowball set. This snowball set from Amazon continues to be a fave. It’s the best for indoor entertainment while we’re all stuck inside during the cold months!

Here’s the top 3 posts y’all engaged with the most this past month. If you’re not already following along on Instagram, make sure to hop on board! My username is @ammoandgrace.

This month’s “shortcut supper” idea comes from my very favorite cookbook, What To Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking. If you don’t have this cookbook already I highly reccomend it-it’s full of simple but delicious recipes, and is sorted by the amount of time each meal takes to cook! You can also search by protein, ingredient, or “mood” such as “feeling healthy” or “craving something cozy” or “you want to show off”. Brilliant, right?!

Now onto the meal! It’s basically a giant croissant sandwich, and the only ingredient you need to make sure to have that you might not already have on hand is puff pastry. I always keep a few boxes in my freezer to make this (or a giant homemade poptart).

Giant Croissant Sandwich

-Puff pastry

-Lunchmeat (I use whatever we have-turkey, ham, roast beef, etc)

-Cheese (sliced or shredded-whatever you have works!)

-Dijon mustard, if desired

-Egg (make an egg wash for the top to brown it and for the seasoning to attach to. If you don’t have any spare eggs (they’re a hot commodity these days!), that’s okay-it’ll still be delicious!)

-Seasoning (I like using everything but the bagel, dried minced onions, or sesame seeds)

Preheat your oven to 400°. Roll out your puff pastry sheets as thin as possible (one for the top, one for the bottom) and add the bottom to a sheet pan covered in parchment paper (for easy clean up). Add Dijon mustard, layer on your lunchmeat and cheese, and then add the top sheet. Seal the edges with a fork, then brush with egg wash and top with seasoning. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until it’s warmed through and the top is all tan and flakey.

Eeek! Im so excited about this month’s recommendation because…it’s my newest project!

Thin Line Valentine was born out of my desire to create a prayer challenge for first responder spouses to do for their heroes. I’m not sure about your household, but we’re not huge Valentine’s Day people-we don’t really do big gifts or dinners out. I still like to acknowledge the holiday, though, and lean more towards meaningful gifts than expensive or wasteful ones.

Enter: Thin Line Valentine! This ebook contains seven days of prayer prompts and activities, as well as empty prayer pages so that you can actually write those prayers down. At the end of the week (on Valentine’s Day!) you’ll be left with a pile of prayers to gift your hero, as well as the knowledge that you’ve been praying passionately and intentionally for them!

Anytime I create paid content I struggle-it feels vulnerable to put myself out there AND ask for you to pay for it! I made this ebook just $5-the same price (or cheaper) than a latte these days. There’s two reasons for this. One: it helps provide for my first responder family. Thank you for supporting me! I am SO grateful. Two, many studies show that we’re more likely to follow through with something when we’ve invested financially in it. There’s a reason that nonprofit conferences charge a nominal fee or a monthly gym class membership has no show fines. By purchasing this ebook, you’re more likely to complete the challenge, instead of it just sitting on your downloads folder!

Happy February, thin line fam! Xoxo
