Hey friends! I’ve missed yall!
Last week was back to school week for us, so I’ve been logging into social media and the blog on a more regular basis after taking most of the summer off. I’ve found that it’s been a lot easier to keep boundaries around screen time now that I’m used to it!
Our final month of summer was full of fun trips-a cabin trip with family, a mama and little trip to the south to visit friends, camping, and even a day trip to the zoo! We’ve squeezed in so much fun these past couple of months and phew I’m just so grateful for the life I get to live. Most mornings during my quiet time I feel like I need to pinch myself to make sure this is my real life-when I take a moment to reflect and practice gratitude my heart feels like it could quite literally burst.
I’m a big warm weather gal…but boy am I excited for fall! Autumn is definitely my favorite season, and I’ve been eying my bin of fall decor for the past week. Don’t tell my LEO, but I think today might be the day my pumpkins get to see daylight again for the first time since last year 🤪 are you an “early” decorator too, or do you wait until October?
I hope that you’ve had a wonderful summer, too!Scroll down for the rest of this month’s newsletter (there’s a promo code, quickie dinner idea, top linked products and posts, and a blue book recommendation!) and if you’re not already subscribed and want these posts to come directly to your inbox you can do that here.

Here’s the top three things that y’all loved the most this past month(s):
Chase Inflatable. I shared this Paw Patrol Halloween Inflatable last week and soo many of y’all said you had one, too! It’s so cute and not spooky-a win in a household with little eyes 😅 and I mean are you even a thin line family if you don’t have some Paw Patrol around?! 😂

My devotional. I’m always so humbled and blown away when my devo shows up in the top links! Amazon has had it on sale lately, with prime shipping!

Paint with water. This Melissa & Doug art book is the best because each coloring sheet has its own set of paints! You just wet a paintbrush and use the colors, and voila! Bonus points because there’s both fire truck and patrol car scenes!

Here’s the top 3 posts y’all engaged with the most this past month. If you’re not already following along on Instagram, make sure to hop on board! My username is @ammoandgrace.

This month’s promo code/small shop highlight is one I am SO excited about! Fellow LEOW Ashley has been a longtime a+g community member and recently launched her own small shop! Cozy Prairie Baby is faith rooted, freedom based, and police family owned AND has the cutest jammies and bows for littles. Say less and take my money!
All of the prints are precious, but you know I’m partial to the police ones! There’s several TBL ones like the All Nighter and Darling Duty…and just this weekend she opened a preorder for the most perfect law enforcement Christmas jammies I’ve ever seen in my life! The Gingerbadge collection (which includes adult pajamas!) is open for preorder until this Friday.
Ashley is a wonderful mama, LEOW, woman of faith, and now small shop owner who deserves all of the support! I know this shop is going to be my go to for all future LEOW baby showers.
You can verify your first responder status for a discount for her shop through GovX, or we can use code AMMOGRACE15 to save on anything in her shop! You can check out their latest drops on Instagram here!

I’m looking forward to making more autumn meals as September continues on, but for now (as our temperatures are still super hot!) I’ve been sticking with some of our tried and true summer recipes. We make some version of a cheeseburger/Big Mac salad, bowl, or flatbread at least every week or two-it’s just so yummy and easy! If you want to make a bowl instead of a flatbread, you can find my recipe for a Big Mac Bake in this newsletter here.
Cheeseburger Flatbreads
-naan bread (any size-I usually get whatever is on sale!)
-ground beef (you can also use chicken or turkey if you want to keep things lighter)
-shredded cheese (I like cheddar for a more classic cheeseburger taste)
-toppings (we do lettuce, tomatoes, pickles or relish, and onions)
-sauce or dressing (I make a homemade Big Mac sauce or use Thousand Island dressing)
Brown your ground beef or meat and season with pot roast seasoning. Top your flatbreads (I use the Stonefire naan bread, whatever size I can find) with shredded cheese and broil until the cheese is warm and melted. Top the flatbreads with the cooked meat along with whatever toppings and sauce your family likes. We usually serve these with air fryer fries and call it a day! Simple and yummy-my favorite.

Since I featured a cute kiddo small shop this month, I figured I’d stick with the theme and share a kiddo book, too! A couple of years ago fellow LEOW Angela reached out and asked if she could send me her new book. Of course I said yes, and it’s become one of our favorite police kiddo books!
When Angela’s LEO husband was injured in the line of duty she looked around for a picture book to help explain to their kiddos what had happened-and found none. So, in true super strong police wife fashion, she buckled up and wrote one herself!
Heroes Get Boo Boos Too is a cute, age appropriate book that talks about how important a hero’s job is (law enforcement, fire, EMS, and military are all represented in the illustrations) and how sometimes while they’re busy helping other people they get injured. Other members of the thin line family help them out and they’re back in action in no time!
I think this is a great children’s book to add to any first responder family’s collection and can help answer questions if something were to happen in the line of duty. The illustrations are SO good and the message is simple and sweet!
