come as you are + fall into his arms

Verses:
Psalm 139:13-14 says “For you created my inmost being, you stitched me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your words are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Romans 8:39 says “Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jeremiah 1:5 says “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Devo:
Sometimes it’s hard for me to spend too much time on social media. It seems like everyone is always doing better. They get more likes, they have prettier selfies, they have more followers, they’re taking another vacation and upgrading another car. It’s easy to fall into that trap-the trap of thinking that we’re not worthy.

But we are worthy, because God created us to be that way. Our worth is not found in worldly things-it’s found on the cross. Our ability to be loved is not found in other people-it’s found in Jesus. Our ticket to Heaven is not a cost we need to come up with-it’s already been paid for. We don’t need to wait to be loved by Jesus until we’re “enough”-we are already enough, because He is. All He asks is for us to come as we are and fall into His waiting arms.

If you too have moments where you look through a blogger’s home tour with envy, see vacation photos on an old friend and feel defeated, or bitterly listen about your sister’s promotion while you feel stuck in your job, hear me say this: You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are intricately and intentionally stitched together. You are loved without separation. You are all of those things because the creator of the world, the center of our lives, the most perfect one said so.

Prayer:
Lord, You stitched me together and created me to be exactly the person you wanted. I am a daughter of the king. I am loved by the one who loves unconditionally. Lord, remind me of those things when I feel as though I’m not enough. I am enough, because You are enough.
