While you were sleeping safely, thousands of first responders were awake, working and patrolling to protect you.
While you were sleeping, their other halves slept alone, so you could rest undisturbed.
And while you were sleeping, some made the ultimate sacrifice.
Last night, while you were sleeping, a father was murdered. A husband gone. A son, a friend, a neighbor, a brother-no longer here.
Last night, officers showed up to work, ready to protect and serve to whatever capacity required of them, up to and including death.
Tonight, and tomorrow night, and the night after that, they’ll do it all over again.
